EVERLASTSome things don't ever last long, others are everlasting. Some deserve to be forgotten, others deserve a shrine."Everlast" is a build which was meant to never be finished. Winter froze it in its whiteness and shades of gold.

I think these waves are connected to global tide. This is not a technological showcase of art, but a pool I created in my own personal miniature garden.Sometimes I fall from the edge of the world,Losing track of which way is up.In the lonely depths below,But have you fallen too?Because I felt your hand.May you also encounter these waves. To join the SLEA Group just Paste this in the local chat in Second Life:secondlife:///app/group/91b7ba50-5441-3717-865c-d06958339c9f/about FYI: The Art Sandbox cleans on Friday mornings at 10 am. SLEA6: "TRACTIONIST WORLD" by Asahelverne Absinthe! - Liaison: Lexandra "Tractionist World" by Asahelverne Absinthe is a huge multilevel installation inspired by "Mortal Engines", the 2018 post-apocalyptic/steampunk movie based on the novel by P. Reeve. An opening party is being held on Sept 14, 2024 - 1pm SLT with the J.A.M.M.M. Tribute Band performing a music show dedicated to Iron Maiden.
The original movie: Mortal Engines...The dystopian world in which the story of “Mortal Engines” unfolds is the result of the Sixty Minute War: A devastating conflict occurred in XXI century, that destroyed civilization and caused massive geological upheaval leaving behind a ruined, inhumane, and brutal world where cities have become mobile machines to survive. London, one of the predatory and ruthless “traction cities,” is a massive metropolis that hunts, captures and dismantles other cities for their resources. The entire city is powered by an enormous steam engine and moves on massive treads.Airhaven, in contrast, is a floating city, a refuge for merchants, aviators, and people who wish to avoid the violent life of the traction cities. Suspended in the clouds by enormous air balloons, Airhaven is a place of peace and neutrality, far from the brutality of the traction world.
In Asahelverne's interpretation"Tractionist World" shows a specific event from Mortal Engines in Asahelverne's interpretation: London's assault on the Shan Guo wall, faced by the floating city of Airhaven. The installation therefore includes three main buildings (as well as many other secondary ones), each of which can be visited independently from the others:• the traction city of London (the city is really large and includes many levels and internal environments: please consider that visiting it may take some time);• the floating city of Airhaven;• the Shan Guo wallAt the main landing point you’ll find:• a TP hub to directly reach London, Airhaven, Shan Guo, and other parts of “Tractionist World”;• maneuverable flying ships and hot air balloons for aerial navigation of the entire area (highly recommended for a more immersive experience, as well as an ideal way to take great pics of London and Airhaven!).
Asahelverne wrote:"I am a steampunk enthusiast, dedicating myself to this virtual world as a creative who loves to challenge himself whenever something marvelous lights up his eyes. Since the cinematic event of Mortal Engines, I have been fascinated by the impressive set design and the colossal scale of the structures featured in the film:-The immense traction city of London, a true mobile fortress city with multiple levels that moves on powerful treads, hunting for prey (smaller mining towns or static settlements), which are typically swallowed into the enormous hangar and then dismantled to exploit their resources. This practice is known as Municipal Darwinism.-The iconic airborne city of Airhaven, suspended in the skies safe from the threat of traction cities, supported by large airships, serving as a refuge for every skyfarer and a commercial hub for the peaceful world of that time. It is also a common refuge for the Anti-Traction League, which fights against the threat of traction cities like London.-The colossal shield wall of Shan Guo: the last fortified bastion and home of the Anti-Tractionist fleet, defending the static Eastern cities, which live peacefully, thriving in a part of the world untouched by the Sixty Minute War. It has become the primary target of London, which now struggles to find the necessary prey for its survival.I have tried to recreate some of these structures in Second Life, free from the dimensional and structural constraints and by the rules of business (London requires a full sim of at least 20,000 prims, for example so it is not a very good business investment for a creator) and inspired by the structures as seen in the movie adaptation.“Tractionist World” shows a specific event from the movie: London while approaching to the Shan Guo wall. In particular, I tried to recreate that feeling of human powerlessness in the face of the majesty and enormity of these machineries and megastructures." SLEA7: Dreams (Barry.Richez) is now building! - Liaison: Shug/Lexandra SLEA8: Klark Harvy's Virtuoso! - Liaison: David JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH taken from the story by Jules Verne
The sim will open to the public on Sunday 8th September and finally close on Sunday 15th December. It will be a fully immersive experience of the kind of hike the travelers would have taken to reach the entrance to the volcano, and there will be some experiences along the way, whichever route they take.
Music for Performances - Rick Wakeman
This Immersive Sim has been created by Klark Harvy - Producer and Artistic Director of Virtuoso Performing Arts.
Klark has also created the Journey Theatre, Effects, and all Immersive Stage Sets for this production, from concept to completion.
His vision for this installation, was to bring to life the story through words , music, dance, light and effects.
The message to our guests being to take heed of the Hero's Journey Concept that flows through this story;
The Ordinary World. The Call to Adventure.Refusing the Call to Adventure.Meeting the Mentor.Crossing the Threshold. Test, Allies, and Enemies. Approach to the Innermost Cave. The Supreme Ordeal. The return with the Elixir
Perseverance in spite of hardships, even to the point of ignoring reason, and we can also see the struggle for survival in a hostile environment. Our fears to be faced, our dreams and hopes to be realised, how painful separation in love affects us, our sense of adventure and awe for our mysterious and ever changing planet felt. To travel inside of yourself and find your guides and allies, and discover your strength. To take that Learning Journey, delve into the mystery, be lost, fight the battles weather the storms and to return again with knowledge and experience your own inner growth, to bring what you have learned into your life, to let go and to be ready for the next adventure.
At the Landing point you can pick up your hiking gear and then take the hike the travellers would have had to reach the entrance to the volcano, there will be some experiences along the way and some surprises too!
The Performances will be fully choreographed dances to the complete score written by Rick Wakeman, with a cast of over 20 people.
Also involved in the creative aspects of this Event are Bridget Beresford, and Delaney Jenson.
Bridget and Delaney are both Choreographers working with the Virtuoso Dance Team. They have also had input with ideas and suggestions for the creation of the sim, and the experiences along the routes.
Delaney has compiled all the music files to be played for this event, and will stream the music for performances.
Morganna Wulfsong and Emma Enchantment will also complete the Choreography Team for these shows.
More details and a Theatre LM will go out in notices before each show, seating will be limited so please arrive early on the date of your choice!
